cheap cigarettes Dr. Manali Chakrabarti received her Ph.D. in economic history from the Department of Economics, Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2003. She obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Xavier Institute of Management in 1989 and B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry from the Calcutta University. She has several years of experience in the industry and has worked as management consultant for A.F. Fergusson, Indian Market Research Bureau and was the Head of Mudra Information Systems, a division of Mudra Communications Limited.
Her research papers on workers' participation
and democracy and industrial history of Kanpur have appeared in
journals, including Organisation Studies, Indian Journal of
Labour Economics, Seminar etc. She has been a visiting faculty
in the Management department of the Kanpur University and Dept.
of Industrial Mgmt., Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
Her current research interests include exploration
and understanding of social, political and economic issues of
Kanpur.
